Kathak
From the northern borders of India, Kathak is a classical dance characterized by the rhythmic footwork danced under the weight of more than a hundred ankle bells called ghungroos. Kathak incorporates spectacular spins, exquisite expression, mesmerizing grace, and the dramatic representation of themes from Persian and Urdu poetry alongside those of those Hindu mythology.
Bharatnatyam
One of the four main classical styles and the oldest in origin in India, Bharatnatyam developed from ritualistic dances performed in the past as offerings to the deities of Hindu temples. Bharatnatyam is also known for its grace, purity, tenderness, expressions, and sculpturesque poses. This ancient yet popular dance form allows the dancer to develop strength and technique.

Bhangra
You’ve heard the term and perhaps danced to it at parties! From the state of Punjab, Bhangra is a high-energy folk dance style performed by men and women at social events. We recommend this dance for all beginner adults who would like to learn dance steps while enjoying a work-out at the same time.
Garba/Raas
From the state of Gujarat, Garba/Raas is a folk dance performed with vibrant costumes on nine nights, Navratri, to the goddess Ambica. Traditionally, garba is performed by men and women gracefully in circles to Gujarati music. Raas follows garba during the festival of Navratri and is played with dandia.
